Update from DCCI CEO, Friday 10 April 2020
I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.
Supporting our clients and members and maintaining regular contact remains our top priority. We are very mindful of the impacts that COVID-19 is having on our sector. We have recently launched a number of initiatives to support designers and makers:
- our dedicated FAQ hub which is updated on an ongoing basis
- a series of webinars on a broad range of topics
- a call-out for MasterCraft Talks
- the Get Ireland Making initiative.
We have also set up a short online survey. This will assist in identifying challenges and what supports may be of most benefit. We always welcome feedback to help us develop our offering. Irish designers and makers are invited to participate in this survey at: bit.ly/DCCISurvey. TWe would appreciate your input by 10am next Tuesday 14 April. Thank you to all those who have responded to date.
Our initial focus has been on short-term actions to address the here and now. The Board and DCCI team are also looking ahead. We have been exploring the longer-term strategic considerations for the recovery of our sector. We are developing a number of initiatives which will be instrumental in the recovery phase. We will also be devising our Strategic Plan for the coming years.
Know that the DCCI team is here to support you at this challenging time. We are monitoring developments, working with colleagues across Government on ways to sustain our sector. We will continue to share updates on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn platforms and through email.
I extend my thoughts and best wishes to you and yours for Easter.
