Design & Crafts Council of Ireland AGM 2014
The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland's (DCCoI) AGM took place on Wednesday 11th June 2014 in the RDS.
Karen Hennessy, CEO, gave an update on activities within the past year with a brief overview of the Year of Irish Design 2015 (YOID 2015).
Tina Byrne, outgoing Board Member gave a presentation on Ceramics Ireland's new strategic plan. (This was following Ceramic Ireland's participation in DCCoI's Strategic Plan Development for Guilds, Associations, Networks and Societies (GANS). DCCoI have partnered with Business to Arts in order to provide appropriate expertise to GANS to devise strategic plans that will assist in the on-going development and professionalisation of DCCoI member organisations. Business to Arts undertake an intensive six week training programme involving a mixture of full day workshops, one-to-one advice sessions, site visits to each organisation and business plan content review, analysis and delivery. Many thanks to our outgoing Board Members; Tina Byrne, Alison Ospina and Derek McGarry, whose terms finished in 2014, for their work and support over the past few years.
Nominations were received for the five available places on the Board of Directors and representatives from the member organisations voted for new members.
Sonya Lennon and Michael Hanley have been reappointed to serve their second term with the board.
The three new directors elected are:
- Martina Hamilton; nominated by Made in Sligo
- John O'Connor; nominated by Dublin Institute of Technology
- Elaine Riordain; nominated by Ceramics Ireland
DCCoI's 2013 Financial Accounts were formally adopted and the 2013 Annual Report was launched at the AGM. DCCoI 2013 Annual Report has since been published online, click here to read it.
