What's a typical day in the studio like for you?

My day is tremendously diverse. On a weekly basis I work with ongoing projects, custom orders, events, self directed work, teaching basketry and ongoing stock production. I can be working with groups, individuals or local authorities depending on the season. I have found my day/week/month is driven by the season, often dictated by holidays, planting and seasonal demands.

What do you like most about your work?

I love working with my hands, the materials and the ongoing challenges I come across. Basketry is an ongoing learning experience, there is always something new. A different approach or weave that makes me stop and think.

What do you like least about your work?

The most difficult thing for me to manage is having to put fiancial challenges and need ahead of my desire to make my own work.
