Borris Lace Group
Borris Lace Group was established in 2016 and meet each Wednesday in Borris Focus Centre and every second Saturday in Borris Library. The group also meet in Borris House every fourth Wednesday on alternate months.
Borris lace had been in decline as a craft and the group is focused on keeping it active. Through rigorous research, Marie Laurie and Annette Meldrum catalogued the history and stitches of the lace and published a book in 2010. Although Marie lives in Australia, she visits Borris regularly. The group welcomes new members who are interested in learning about and developing the Borris Lace tradition.
