Feltmakers Ireland is a national organisation founded in May 2003 in response to a growing interest nationwide in feltmaking. The network has received enthusiastic support from a very energetic membership which is now over 194. Feltmakers Ireland provides workshops, exhibitions and information about feltmaking not only for members but for anyone interested in feltmaking. Four workshops are held annually and are open to anyone to attend. An exhibition of the work of members of Feltmakers Ireland is held every second year and is a showcase for the wealth of skills and talent within the membership. A quarterly newsletter, is posted out to all members, and is an invaluable resource with information about events and suppliers. Feltmakers Ireland is a member of the International Feltmakers Association.
The network usually host a felt bazaar at their AGM selling a wide range of fibre from Finland, Australia and the UK along with feltmaking equipment and a display of members work and guest speakers.
