Irish Woodturners Guild

The aim of the Irish Woodturners Guild is to offer mutual help and encouragement to woodturners of all levels. It was founded in 1983, and since then it has flourished with membership growing to over 800 members who are organised into 20 regional chapters. Chapters are often said to be the life blood of the guild and in many instances are the first contact points for new members. Most chapters organise monthly meetings and welcome new members as well as members from other chapters.

The guild is run by an executive committee that is elected at the AGM. The executive committee meets at least six times each year and oversees the day-to-day running of the guild.

The objective of the guild is to exchange information, assist in improving design and technical skills, to promote woodturning to the general public and to organise seminars and exhibitions and to publish regular journals.
