DCCI’s Future Makers 2022 programme is open for entries

Applications are now open for Design & Craft Council Ireland’s (DCCI) prestigious Future Makers Awards and Supports programme for 2022. With a total prize-fund of €25,000 and 26 awards and supports available, Future Makers is one of Europe’s largest prize-funded awards programmes.  

Students and Emerging Makers can enter for free at futuremakers.ie. The closing date for applications is Friday 29th July 2022.

DCCI’s Future Makers programme rewards excellence in both making and the creative process. Divided into emerging practitioner and student/recent graduate categories, it covers a broad range of disciplines, including fashion/textile design, ceramics, furniture design, jewellery design, glass artistry and mixed media construction.

Entries will be assessed by a judging panel. Assessment will be based on the strength of an applicant’s written proposal and their creative work

The RDS Craft Awards 2023 will be open to winners of DCCI Future Makers Awards & Supports 2022. Five bursaries of €10,000 each will be awarded for the development of business and craft skills to those pursuing a professional career in the sector. The money can be spent on further education and training, research, development of new work, mentoring, purchase of equipment, studio improvements, website and residencies.

To be eligible for the 2023 RDS Craft Awards, emerging craft makers must have won a Future Makers Award or Support in 2022. See rds.ie for more information.

All applications must be submitted online at futuremakers.ie and the deadline for entries is Friday, 29th July 2022.

The winners and recipients of the 2022 Future Makers Awards & Supports programme will be announced at a presentation ceremony.
