Trade shows in Europe and the US returned to physical formats in September. We have been speaking with organisers and exhibitors and the feedback from is positive. Buyers are attending and they are looking for new brands and new products.
The Design Ireland pavilion at International Trade Shows is suited to export-ready clients to develop selling opportunities with retailers and specifiers overseas. Being part of a group presentation at the trade fair is an easier way to access the market so as to provide you with a stepping stone to develop an international market presence.
So if you have experience exporting then now is the time to consider taking part.
DCCI will have Design Ireland pavilions at several trade shows during 2022. The first two will be:
Maison & Objet – Paris, 20 to 24 January 2022
Shoppe Object – New York, 5 to 7 February 2022
Closing date for completed applications is 5pm on Monday the 18th of Oct. 2022
The value of being part of a Design Ireland pavilion includes:
The selection process focuses on identifying brands that are a good fit for the type of buyers visiting each show – therefore increasing the potential for success.
Maison & Objet takes place in Paris twice a year and has a year round virtual sales platform called MOM. It is a strong interiors and gift show that provides access to a wide range of international buyers from the US, the UK, Asia, Scandinavia, Germany, Russia and the Middle East as well as from France.
The show is visited by both retailers and gallery owners, and has a good percentage of architects, interior designers and specifiers.
The Design Ireland pavilion will be located in the Signature Today section of the show, which is the premium contemporary part of the show.
Shoppe Object takes place in New York in February and September each year, and has a year round virtual sales platform. It is a curated, boutique show with approximately 450 exhibitors.
Buyers come from all over the US to attend, and they tend to be from lifestyle and design led stores, independents and small chains. They value provenance and craftsmanship and are keen to discover unique brands and products for their customers.
All exhibitors must pass selection by the show – so in applying to DCCI, if selected you will be put forward for selection by the show organisers.
