Job Purpose:

The role reports directly to the Head of Design. The successful candidate will be charged with planning and management of design projects within DCCI. They will support the Head of Design by contributing to the strategic goals and KPIs of the department.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Scope out activities to be covered by both the design and craft portfolios within the organisation.
Support the Head of Design to scope and deliver Design Week.
Develop and manage other Design Week type programmes (one week-long programmes) throughout the year to raise awareness of DCCI and the industry.
Support the Head of Design to plan, promote and execute the “Irish Business Design Challenge” initiative.
Liaise with third parties (e.g. LEO and EI) in order to successfully host The Irish Business Design Challenge (IBDC).
Manage relationships with design partners (e.g. IDI and NCAD) to grow awareness and relationships within the design community.
Support the Head of Design with international mentoring for clients.
Manage, promote, recruit for, and develop Irish Design Portfolio and Irish Craft Portfolio – a programme which aims to grow the reputations and potential of design across all major disciplines of contemporary design.
Deliver any other reasonable duties and responsibilities, as required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):

This role is responsible for supporting the Head of Design to deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within DCCI.The Design Project Manager will support the Head of Design in monitoring and delivering performance against the Design Department KPIs which cover:

Delivery of Design Week annually
Target footfall for Design Week annually
Number of submitted IBDC applications
Number of clients committed to sustainability certification
Number of design-led projects and challenges per year
Target number of new design clients per year
Number of clients with potential to employ > 9 staff
Number of applications to the Portfolio programme annually

Experience and competencies:

Third level qualification in Business, Marketing, or other relevant degree.
3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
Recognised ability to effectively lead and manage change, keeping internal and external stakeholder engaged and involved with the strategic implementation.
Excellent people manager, with skills in developing and motivating a team.
Appreciation of the value of creativity in the workplace to delivergoals.
Strong skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote the goals of DCCI.
Knowledge of and a passion for the Irish craft and design marketplace is preferred, however not required.
The ability to provide clear, succinct information to stakeholders in a timely manner.
The ability to work on one’s own initiative, manage agreed goals and work well within a team environment.
Problem solving and decision-making skills.
Experience representing an organisation, showing professionalism in terms of attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) is required.
Having a second European language is desirable.
Travel will be required on occasion across Ireland andinternationally.
Full driver’s licence.
