Call out for craftspeople, designers and artists for Let’s Go Fly a Kite!
Tuesday 05 May 2020
Following the success of last year’s launch of the Winter Print Fair, a celebration of print and related crafts, we are delighted to invite applications for the second annual Fair.
The event will take place on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December from 11.00 to 16.00 each day. Admission to visitors is free of charge.
This year the Museum is taking a fresh approach by hosting a preview of participants’ wall-mounted work to build up interest from visitors prior to the Fair dates. Wall-mounted work will be installed on Sunday 24th November, allowing for a full week of display of chosen participants’ key pieces. This will allow artisans to maximise the viewership and potential buyers of their work. The Museum is currently seeking participants for its Winter Print Fair. Submissions are now welcomed from all artists working in the medium of print. Interested parties are invited to submit their expression of interest accompanied by the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org by close of business on Monday 16th September.
1) Short Artist Bio
2) Description of work to be exhibited at the Fair, including 5 images
3) Price range of work [range from high to low price points; e.g. cards, unframed, framed prints]
4) Link to website or social media page(s)
The Museum aims to curate a diverse selection of unique gift offerings. The final decision regarding the participants is at the discretion of the Museum. Places will be available for hire at a non-refundable fee of €250 (excl. VAT) for the duration of the Fair. This fee will be put towards the organising and marketing of the Fair. Each artist will be given a stand within our exhibition space on the mezzanine level. Sales will be processed directly between the artist and buyer, so your individual stand must be staffed for the duration of the Fair. A small selection of associated crafts will be selected for the entrance level space to complement the Winter Print Fair. Interested parties practicing in crafts such as paper, calligraphy, and bookbinding are welcome to send in their submissions as outlined above. Please title your application as an ‘Associated Craft Submission’.
Applicants will be notified on the status of their application by Friday 27th September.
