Dearcán Bursary 2021 | Open for Applications

Cork County Council Arts Service and South Cork Local Enterprise Office, in conjunction with Benchspace, are pleased to invite applications for the second annual Dearcán Bursary.

The Dearcán Bursary was established to provide artists, craft makers and product designers - currently resident in County Cork - with the opportunity to research, reflect and engage with their practice in all of its creative and commercial aspects.

This award will allow the successful candidate to take a significant step forward in their creative career, by supporting a twelve month period at the Benchspace workshop in Cork City. This includes studio/workshop fees, an expenses stipend and budget towards locally sourced materials.

  • €500 Startup Budget
  • €10,000 Expenses Stipend

The Dearcán Bursary is open to

  • Practicing artists, craft makers and product designers in all disciplines who are currently living in the Cork County administrative area.
  • Applicants should have significant achievement and/or potential in their chosen field & must be able to demonstrate how the Dearcán Bursary placement will benefit their professional practice.
  • Applicantsmust be over 18 years.

Submit applications to hello@benchspacecork.ie accompanied by:

  • • A detailed CV.
  • A clear statement of expected accomplishments over the 12 months of Dearcán Bursary support, and how these would be measured.
  • Images of recent work, with a short description, and/or links to professional socialmedia accounts.
  • References or other forms of support fromestablished figures.
  • Any other relevant information e.g. equipment, business, or training needs.
  • Applications close at 5pm on Monday 2nd November 2020.
