The students have an exhibition of their work at the end of the first year programme and throughout the course have the opportunity to display their work in the well-equipped display area. Pricing, marketing and photographing work produced is an important part of the programme. In the second year two smaller exhibitions are mounted in December and April with the final Graduate Show taking place in The Crafts Council of Ireland’s National Craft Gallery in July.
On completion of the course the graduates have the confidence and competency to
enter the industry and have a high employment success rate. Many choose to pursue further training in Ireland and overseas. A high percentage eventually set up their own businesses or progress to further training or higher education courses. The combination of environment, facilities, expertise in training and the relevance of the course curriculum to the ceramics industry are what makes this a unique course within ceramics training in Ireland.
