Showcase 2021 Statement
Monday, 24th August 2020: It is with regret we announce today that Showcase, Ireland’s Creative Expo, scheduled to take place at the RDS Arena in January 2021 will not go ahead as a physical event due to the ongoing risks posed by Covid-19. Although cancelled as an exhibition, plans are currently being worked through to ensure a digital programme is in place that supports exhibitors and buyers. Further news and information on this programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
Chair of Showcase, Eddie Shanahan said; “We are currently living in unprecedented times and although it is with great disappointment that Showcase will not go ahead in 2021, we must look to the opportunities open to us to bring retailers and buyers from all over the world together in a virtual setting. We are here to support and promote designers and makers to global and local retail buyers and our aim is to ensure we have the correct platforms to offer opportunities to meet virtually. I look forward to announcing more on this in the coming weeks.”
As one of the country’s largest international trade shows, Showcase annually attracts over 4,000 buyers from across the world including Ireland, the UK, USA, Mainland Europe and the Far East generating sales orders of over €26 million during the four days of the show.
