The Trustees of the Golden Fleece Award invite applications for the 2026 Award.
About the award:
The Golden Fleece Award is an independent artistic prize established as a charitable bequest by Dublin-born artist,designer and educator Lillias Mitchell (1915-2000). Her intentions were set out in her Letter of Wishes to her Trustees, in which she stated that: My wish is to give artists a ‘boost’ in times of particular need… A Trust was formed to manage the Award following her death, and the first Golden Fleece Award was presented in 2002.
Prize fund:
The total prize fund for the 2026 Golden Fleece Award will be in the region of €30,000. From this, two main awards worth €10,000 each will be made, one in each category – Category 1: Visual Art and Category 2: Craft + Applied Art.
Application deadline:
Applications must be made via the Online Application Form on the Golden Fleece Award’s website before the deadline: 5pm, Friday 28 November 2025.
