Melissa creates unique, handmade products from her rural workshop in County Sligo, Ireland. She uses polymer clay, antique silver and gemstones. Her product range includes jewellery and unique gifts, featuring her collection of Pocket Anxiety Buddies©️. All of her products are non-toxic, and her jewellery components are both nickel-free and allergy-free.
My typical day starts by making sure I have my water bottle with me. That’s a must! I’ll have an idea of what I’m going to make or remake.
I’ll turn on my speaker. I have to have music whilst I work. I’ll then get the clay colours out that I need and start my work.
Go for it! It can be hard work and long hours, especially if you're doing craft markets. But it's incredibly rewarding, especially when you're doing something you love and enjoy.

I love making and working on new ideas. I also love going to craft markets and meeting my customers as well as meeting fellow crafters.
My ceramic work tile. My husband got it for me, I can make and bake my items on it, which means less handling on the smaller more delicate items.
What other maker in your discipline do you most look up to?
Tracy from Hazelrocks. I love her wire wrap work and she has great knowledge of gemstones and crystals.

How do you switch off?
Watching drama thrillers or films with my husband. Spending time with our cats, dogs and horses. Going for walks with our dogs.
