August Craft Month is an all-island celebration of craft and design that takes place every August. It is led by DCCI, in partnership with Craft NI.
The August Craft Month 2026 events Programme is live! Join us for Ireland’s Summer Celebration of Crafts
Brought to you as a partnership between the Design & Crafts Council and Craft NI, August Craft Month is now in the fifth year of promoting, growing and sharing audiences for craft makers.
With 450 events, and over 2,500 makers involved, this year’s programme is one of our busiest yet and we can’t wait to share it with you! Thank you to all the makers who have submitted their events and have shown us the strength and creativity of the craft community across the island of Ireland. This is shaping up to be an inspiring summer celebration of craft!
Whether you’re a total beginner or a dedicated craft enthusiast, August Craft Month has an activity for you. From sustainable sewing in Galway and carving out the Ogham alphabet in Meath, to prehistoric pottery on the Causeway Coast in Antrim, and firing and feasting in Waterford, there really is something for everyone.
A celebration of craft and design
August Craft Month provides opportunities for designers, makers, communities, families, collectors and enthusiasts from across the island of Ireland to make, see, learn about and buy craft.
What's On

The events are truly unique and also offer audiences a chance to have a go and push ourselves to try something new, guided by a skilled local maker.
Katherine McDonald
Director, Craft NI
Last year, over 1,500 makers across the island of Ireland took part. You can still register your event and join us in helping to make this year’s August Craft Month a vibrant celebration of Ireland’s craft heritage.
