FOI Body
The Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) is the main champion of the design and craft industry in Ireland, fostering its growth and commercial strength, communicating its unique identity and stimulating quality design, innovation and competitiveness. DCCI’s activities are funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment via Enterprise Ireland.
In collaboration with partner organisations, DCCI convened Irish Design 2015 (ID2015) on behalf of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Enterprise Ireland.
Our History
The Crafts Council of Ireland, now trading as the Design & Crafts Council Ireland, was established in 1971. Key dates in our history can be viewed in our Annual Report.

Our Governance
The Board of Directors of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) is made up of both Ministerial nominees and elected members. The Board of DCCI is committed to the highest standards of corporate governance and to ensuring that the principle of value for money is applied throughout all the organisation’s activities, in order to generate ongoing return on investment of the funds provided to us through Enterprise Ireland. The warrant of appointment to the Board of DCCI is issued by the Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and lasts for 3 years, exactly the same term as the design and craft representatives elected at the AGM by our membership organisations.
