At Eirlume Studio, design connects people and mosaics are the perfect example of that. Individual fragments of tile, each with their own colour and shape, come together to form something beautiful, useful and durable.

In this one-day workshop, participants will create their own mosaic coasters using ceramic tiles. Vanessa will guide everyone through the full process: from learning how to cut and shape the tiles, to arranging and glueing them in place, and finally grouting the finished piece so it’s ready to use at home. It’s a hands-on, practical introduction to a timeless craft, and no experience is needed.

This year’s theme “The ties that tie, and the links that link” really speaks to mosaic-making. Just as each tile is linked to the next to create a whole design. Everyone leaves with a handmade piece that’s not only functional, but also a reminder of the power of creativity and connection.
