Learning Outcomes
- Led by experienced photographer Rory Moore, this 2-day workshop will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able to digitally photograph your own jewellery.
- Bring along your own SLR camera and Rory will guide you through the entire process, helping you develop effective settings and setups tailored to your unique jewellery and style.

His hands-on, solution-oriented style ensures you leave with the knowledge and confidence to capture stunning images of your creations.
The course will mix professional demonstrations with tailored hands-on instruction with individual makers. The emphasis will be on showing how jewellers can photograph their work using basic lighting and their own camera/phone at home. It will cover basic camera settings, jewellery set-ups, and use of lighting suitable for the individual’s style.
There will be instruction in basic retouching techniques, and jewellers should hope to complete the workshop with both professional and self-created images of their work. Participants are encouraged to bring their camera/phone, jewellery, and any props or backgrounds they would wish to experiment with. The course aims to leave you with not only a strong set of images but the practical skills to keep photographing your work with confidence.
Know Your Instructor
With more than 25 years of professional experience, Rory Moore (Belfast, N. Ireland) is a highly skilled photographer specialising in jewellery, product, and interior photography. Throughout his career, Rory has worked on numerous high-profile projects with the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) and provided bespoke photography training to artisans and craftspeople. Rory’s experience lies in addressing the unique challenges of jewellery photography, particularly unwanted reflections, optimal positioning, and capturing the most flattering angles.
In his Jewellery Photography Masterclass, Rory shares practical techniques for achieving clean, high-quality images using both professional and accessible equipment. He brings a calm, thoughtful teaching style, and is passionate about helping creatives build the skills and confidence to photograph their work effectively — no matter their setup or experience level.
