Roisin Gartland

Róisín Gartland is an interdisciplinary creator who works with a wide range of materials, but she is especially known as a leather expert. She established her studio in 1987 and has been based in The Design Tower since 1988. The craftsmanship displayed in her work across the disciplines showcases her ability to create superb original outcomes for not only the body, as wearable art and timeless apparel and accessories, but that also crosses onto interior and furniture design platforms. Along with almost 40 years of unbroken studio practice she holds a BFA in interdisciplinary studies from IADT and an MFA in sculpture from NCAD. There is no barrier in her mind between design, art, or craft work; in her studio the creative process is all encompassing.
