I am 56 years old, and have been running my own handmade handbag and accessories business from my home in West Clare for the last 10 years. I have lived in Ireland for nearly 20 years. I trained as an engineer, working in the clothing industry briefly before working in politics in the UK House of Commons for Rt Hon Paddy Ashdown MP. I was his IT & Bosnia researcher, visiting Bosnia during and after the war in 1990s. Subsequently I worked promoting studying in the UK for international students from across Asia, based at a university in Norwich. Before starting my bag business I worked as a radio producer for a community radio station in Kilkee, Clare.
