In 2022 I became a full time Batik Artist, and for the past few years, I have developed a unique style and method of creating my pieces. To create my Batik Art I use, batik cotton, batik dyes and wax from my own honey bees. I look to nature for inspiration, which surrounds my studio, based at the foot hills of the Ballyhoura Mountains in North Cork, Ireland. I have always been interested in organic forms and the texture of natural objects. I especially love the vibrant colours in nature and I always try to replicate this in my work. The style of Batik Art lends itself to a freer method of application, but I like clean edges, so my work is a bit more controlled. I love what I do and I hope that my art work will bring the same joy to those who purchase it, as it does to me, when I create it.
