The Taoiseach will present a bowl filled with shamrock to the President of the United States of America, on behalf of the people of Ireland, for St. Patrick’s Day 2026, as is customary.
We wish to invite artisan craftspeople/companies who may be interested in putting forward proposals for the Shamrock Bowl 2026 to tender an Expression of Interest.
The specifications for the 2026 Shamrock Bowl are as follows:
- The bowl should be no more than 9 inches in diameter.
- The design should include a blank panel for text which will be provided (approximately 29 words (130 letters in total)).
- The bowl must be handcrafted in Ireland.
The successful supplier will be required to make the necessary arrangements for the transportation and delivery of the bowl to the Irish Embassy in Washington, [2234 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington DC 20008, United States of America] on an agreed date prior to March 17th 2026.

- In keeping with departmental budgetary constraints, costs will be a factor in the final determination. All applicants will be notified shortly after the closing date.
