3rd December 2025: 109 makers from Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) Made Local campaign are taking part in this year’s Gifted, Ireland’s contemporary craft fair which returns to the RDS Dublin from Wednesday, 3rd December to Sunday, 7th December. In addition to the tantalising variety of Irish craft products, visitors can expect the very best of Ireland’s handweavers, fashion designers, and crochet artists, as this year’s show celebrates the Year of the Textile. Just in time for Christmas gifting, DCCI invites shoppers to explore the Made Local exhibition area, and to look out for exhibitor stands with a Made Local sign to discover high-quality, locally crafted and sustainable gifts. Made Local celebrates the creativity, quality and value of Irish-designed, handcrafted products, and champions both the makers and retailers behind them.
Whether searching for timeless textiles, handcrafted jewellery, artisanal ceramics, or sustainably made wooden gifts, this year’s Gifted fair offers a unique chance to support Ireland’s designers, makers and craftspeople. Made Local champions the originality, quality and value of Irish designed and crafted products, and the makers and retailers behind them. 85 makers from across Ireland will exhibit at this year’s Made Local exhibition space at Gifted, including master weaver, Eddie Doherty from Donegal; Celtic Tweed which is Dublin’s last remaining working tailoring house; and Waterford-based contemporary knitwear brand, Urban Aran.
Minister Alan Dillon, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment with special responsibility for Employment, Small Business and Retail said: “I am delighted to officially open Gifted this year in the RDS. Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s Made Local initiative continues to play a vital role in supporting our makers, strengthening local economies, and encouraging people to choose sustainably produced Irish work. Designers and makers will be showcasing their extraordinary talent and innovation that define Ireland’s craft and design sector. The presence of so many Made Local designers and craftspeople at this year’s fair is a testament to the sector’s creativity, resilience and ambition. I encourage everyone visiting Gifted to explore the Made Local stands and to support the exceptional Irish makers whose work enriches our communities and our culture.”
Mary Blanchfield, CEO at Design & Crafts Council Ireland, said: “Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) is proud to have so many of our members participating in this year’s Gifted. At DCCI, we remain dedicated to promoting and amplifying the profile of Irish craft. For us, Gifted is central to that mission. We want shoppers to prioritise Irish made this Christmas. To choose handmade, characterful and sustainably produced pieces. Gifted offers an outstanding platform for designers and makers to meet new buyers and helps us spread the Made Local message far and wide.”
Patrick O’Sullivan, Gifted organiser, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome visitors back to Gifted 2025 where the best of Irish craft and design is on full display here in the RDS. The return of Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s Made Local exhibition space adds an extra dimension, highlighting the quality, originality, and sustainability of locally made products. Gifted is more than a craft fair, it’s a celebration of creativity, skill, and entrepreneurship. We look forward to connecting shoppers with our talented makers and inspiring people to choose unique, handcrafted gifts this Christmas.”
