
Job Title: Project Manager (Fixed-Term Part-Time)
Location: Ireland / Paris (remote work when feasible)
Reporting to: DCCI Executive Team & appointed event organisers
About the Role
Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our participation in Revelations 2027 as Country of Honor, the prestigious international craft biennial at the Grand Palais in Paris.
You will work closely with our event organisers, selected curator, marketing & PR teams, and—most importantly—our talented makers and designers to ensure that Ireland’s best craft and design are showcased to a global audience.
Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s (DCCI) Background
Design & Crafts Council Ireland is the national agency for the commercial development of Irish designers and makers. We champion the craft and design sector, helping it to thrive at home and internationally. With a growing membership of over 3,500 craft and design professionals, we provide support, opportunities and advocacy across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan with timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Act as the central liaison between DCCI, the selected makers and designers, the exhibition organisers and all other partners and suppliers.
- Coordinate all logistics for the Irish makers: shipping, transportation, customs, insurance, packaging and display set-up.
- Brief and manage the delivery of programme design and content in consultation with DCCI team
- Work hand-in-hand with DCCI’s Digital & Communications team to:
- Identify, source and coordinate appropriate supports and stakeholders to design and deliver marketing and communications objectives across various channels and formats including PR, digital marketing, social media, advertising, and other as appropriate
- Deliver content and insight to ensure communications, branding and media coverage are delivered optimally and on schedule – content to include programme related documentation, web and social media content, media packs, etc.
- Support in liaising with and managing media and other stakeholder interest Oversee budgets, track costs and identify risks or opportunities for savings.
- Manage supplier and vendor contracts; ensure legal and regulatory requirements (including customs and insurance) are met.
- Lead on-site in Paris during installation, the event itself and breakdown, ensuring the highest standards of presentation and health & safety.
- Conduct post-event evaluation and prepare a final report, including vendor and stakeholder feedback and financial reconciliation.
Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in managing large-scale events or exhibitions, ideally with international scope.
- Strong project management skills: planning, scheduling, risk management and budget control.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with creative practitioners, logistics teams, marketing/PR and external partners.
- Outstanding organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English; French language skills a distinct advantage.
- Adaptable and solutions-focused: able to anticipate and resolve issues under pressure.
Desirable
- A passion for craft, design or the creative industries.
- Experience with international exhibition logistics (shipping, customs, insurance).
- Familiarity with exhibition design, display standards or technical set-up.
- Understanding/experience working with Irish public sector governance and protocol especially with regards to funding stakeholders (Dept. Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, via Enterprise Ireland)
Time Commitment & Other Details
- Part-time contractor contract; hours will increase in the months leading up to the event.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required, particularly around installation and the live event.
- Travel to Paris is essential for build-up, event days and breakdown.
