Cora Cummins Ceramics is an award-winning ceramic artist based in Villierstown, Co. Waterford. Trained at Crawford College of Art and Design and through the DCCI Pottery Skills Course, she is also a qualified ceramics teacher and art facilitator. Using traditional hand building techniques, her sculptural work reimagines the clay surface in a contemporary way. Layering washes of colour and intuitive marks, through multiple firings she uses a modern, painterly approach. She views her making process as an active form of meditation, each mark and brushstroke slow and deliberate. Her mindfully made forms invite the viewer to pause, look closer, and to connect with her work on a deeper, more personal level.
