Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must:

• be current members of DCCI
• commit to providing up to date and accurate information, as required
• have usage rights for all images submitted
• agree that content submitted can be used for promotional purposes on DCCI website and social media networks

Important Dates

• Applications Open: Thursday 16th April 2026
• Applications Close: Tuesday 5th May 2026
• Submission of work for final selection: Monday 11th or Tuesday 12th May 2026. Please note, if you are shortlisted, your work will need to be available for the selection process in Gowran Park, Gowran, Co. Kilkenny. All work can be dropped to the Gowran Park or sent by courier. Safe arrival of the work is the makers’ responsibility.
• Collection of all work: Friday 15th May 2026. Collection of the work is the makers responsibility.

How to Apply

• To apply, complete the online application form and submit the required materials before the closing date.
• Applicants must submit 3 pieces of work, with 3–5 images of each piece, alongside:
  • An artist statement
  • A CV outlining professional experience, exhibitions and awards
• All work submitted must be recent (within the last 2 years)
  • For PORTFOLIO, the work submitted through the application form will be used for the shortlisting process. If shortlisted, we will need 2 pieces of work to be available for the selection process in Gowran Park (delivery 11th / 12th May). These pieces can comprise two of those included in the initial application process, or different works, or a mix of both. There will be also be an opportunity, for those selected, to submit new work for inclusion in the PORTFOLIO publication (date TBC) and to the National Design & Craft Gallery Exhibition in 2027.

Judging Process

A panel of Irish and International experts will be tasked by DCCI to review and assess the applications for the updated publication. The panel will be looking for work that demonstrates excellence in design, craftsmanship, innovation, and technical skill to world-class standards. Once published in 2026/2027, the PORTFOLIO programme will then be reviewed bi-annually.
