Pez Vela Studio

Pez Vela Studio

I was born in Algeciras, the place where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. This has made its mark on my artistic expression in terms of colour and form, as evident in this exhibition. I have a background in graphic design and set design for movies and performing artist’s events. I have lived in several different countries, searching out inspiration, which has also influenced my artistic practice. I moved to Ireland, arriving in Galway in 2017, attracted by Galway’s designation as European capital of culture for 2020. I have lived there since, until an interest in the craft and pottery courses brought me to Thomastown at the beginning of June 2021. I have moved into a studio space above the Berkley Gallery to pursue an artistic career and establish Pez Vela studio.
