Role Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Design Project Manager, the Co-Ordinator will support the Project Manager and Head of Design on all design projects within DCCI. They will ensure the design team contributes to the strategic goals and KPIs of the organisation.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

 

The Design Co-Ordinator will be required to:

  • Play an active role in supporting the design team in delivering on all design-led projects and challenges, ensuring high levels of quality assurance relating to administrative processes.
  • Work closely with the members of the design team to scope and deliver Design Week and other Design Week type programmes throughout the year to raise awareness of DCCI and the industry.
  • Support in the delivery of the Irish Business Design Challenge (IBDC) initiative.
  • Assist the Design Project Manager to target new design clients and their commitment to sustainability certification.
  • Liaise with Government departments and agencies to organise events and deliver to deadlines.
  • Liaise with design partners (e.g. IDI and NCAD) to organise and deliver collaborative events and programmes.
  • Use information systems and prepare reports for internal and external use.
  • Support the Head of Design with regard to travel and itineraries.
  • Deliver any other reasonable duties and responsibilities, as required.

General:

  • Consistently fulfil the DCCI customer charter commitments.
  • To perform duties and answer all queries received by person, telephone or e-mail in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
  • To maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Produce weekly/monthly update reports on job tasks, projects and progress towards KPI’s and other reports as required.
  • To represent DCCI at events and promote membership and client registration where opportunities present themselves.
  • Adhere to DCCI filing and server procedures, ensuring that knowledge information systems are captured in a secure and systematic way.
  • Providing tasks and administration services to any DCCI project, subject to your availability, from existing project commitments (reporting to various Project Sponsors as appropriate).
  • Act as the department administrator and carry out all administrative functions in line with the organisations systems eg. Purchase Order System, CRM System.

Experience and competencies:

  • Third level qualification in Business, Marketing, or other relevant degree.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • The ability to provide clear, succinct information to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • The ability to work on one’s own initiative, manage agreed goals and work well within a team environment.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Co-Pilot etc.)
    Appreciation of the value of creativity in the workplace to deliver goals.
  • Strong skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote the goals of DCCI.
  • Knowledge of and a passion for the Irish craft and design marketplace is preferred, however not required.
  • Experience representing an organisation, showing professionalism in terms of attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Travel will be required on occasion across Ireland.
  • Full driver’s license.
