Register with the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) and take part in the supports and services on offer.
Currently there are four levels of registration as outlined below.
Professional Designer / Maker
Suitable for Professional Designers/Craftspeople. Enables participants to engage in all DCCI services and programmes.
Professional Design/Maker Registration entitles participants to:
- have a business page on the DCCI website directory (Public Directory of Craftspeople) *see note below
- receive DCCI's e-newsletter CRAFTlink*
- participate in DCCI insurance schemes: VHI Health Insurance, Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- qualify for a special energy-saving audit with Utilitywise
- receive notice of and participate in Design & Crafts Council Ireland's projects and programmes
Semi-professional Designer/Maker
Suitable for Semi-professional Designers/Craftspeople. Enables participants to engage in all DCCI services and programmes.
Semi-professional Design/Maker Registration entitles participants to:
- receive DCCI's e-newsletter CRAFTlink*
- participate in DCCI insurance schemes: VHI Health Insurance, Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- qualify for a special energy-saving audit with Utilitywise.
- receive notice of and participate in Design & Crafts Council Ireland's projects and programmes
Design/Craft Enthusiast
Suitable for start-up businesses, hobbyists, employees of a registered designer/craftsperson
Design/Craft Enthusiast Registration entitles participants to:
- receive DCCI's e-newsletter CRAFTlink*
- participate in DCCI insurance schemes: VHI Health Insurance, Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- attend and participate in some DCCI events: seminars, lectures, exhibitions etc.
Student
Suitable for students of recoginsed 3rd level colleges and past graduates of DCCI courses
- Design/Craft Enthusiast Registration entitles participants to:
- receive DCCI's e-newsletter CRAFTlink*
- participate in DCCI insurance schemes: VHI Health Insurance, Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- attend and participate in some DCCI events: seminars, lectures, exhibitions etc.
Registration process
Once you meet the criteria and your application is received, it will be reviewed by our Registration Application Review Panel.
Your application will be scored on the following:
- Technical / design skills
- Quality of product and finish
- Quality of business plan
- Quality of images submitted
Currently, registration is free.
*Public Directory of Craftspeople
DCCI provides the Public Directory of Craftspeople as a platform for its Professional Designer/Maker registered clients who have opted in to be part of this public directory. The Public Directory of Craftspeople is intended to be of use to the general public and those seeking further information on craftspeople or craft work in Ireland. The information and images contained in the directory are supplied by the craftspeople and DCCI does not generate nor is it responsible for creating or maintaining an individual’s profile contents.

Application Forms
Please note that the Registration Panel will meet on a monthly basis in 2022. If there is an urgency to your application (e.g. if being a registered client is part of the criteria for participating in a specific event or programme), please submit your application to maryw@dcci.ie, copying registration@dcci.ie and stating the urgency of your request in your email.
