Artist Residency Programme 2026/2027
The DCCI Academy of Jewellery & Goldsmithing Artist Residency Programme, in partnership with the Irish Jewellers & Silversmiths Guild, is supporting emerging and established jewellers through residency opportunities at DCCI Academy, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny.
Residents will receive access to professional workshop facilities and specialist equipment while contributing to the Academy through teaching, mentoring and public engagement. Designed to support the professional development of jewellers, the programme fosters creative exchange and strengthens connections between practising makers, students and the wider jewellery sector.

- Members of the Irish Jewellers & Silversmiths Guild who are:
- Early-career jewellers.
- Established jewellers.
Important dates:
- Applications now open.
- Application closing date – 5pm Friday 21st August
- Successful applicants announced (Friday 28th August)
- Early Career Residency begins (September 14th – May 2027)
- Established Maker Residency begins (January – June 2027)
- Public exhibition and/or artist talks in August 2027
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be members of the Irish Jewellers & Silversmiths Guild
- Be practising jewellers appropriate to the residency category.
- Submit a residency proposal outlining how they intend to use the residency.
- Demonstrate the ability to complete the proposed programme of work.
- Be willing to contribute to DCCI Academy through teaching, mentoring or agreed activities.
- Agree to present the outcomes of their residency through a public talk or exhibition.
- Submit supporting documentation, CV and references as required.
Terms & Conditions
Applicants must agree to the DCCI Academy Artist Residency Terms and Conditions, including:
- Compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Appropriate use of Academy facilities and equipment.
- Participation in studio maintenance.
- Professional conduct throughout the residency.
- Delivery of agreed teaching or mentoring commitments.
- Participation in the public presentation programme.
- Adherence to the residency agreement.
