Foldforming was developed by Charles Lewton-Brain in the early 1980’s. By now, this technique has become a well known silversmithing process.
It is a technique of quickly transforming a flat sheet of metal into a three dimensional form by folding, compressing then opening, using a hammer and anvil. It helps develop a great understanding of the technique of hammering and how a flat sheet of metal can be moved into a three dimensional form.
This course is open to both DCCI members and members of the public.
