Convert

Convert creates sustainable and desirable textile pieces for living and gifting, handcrafted in Co.Monaghan. Sustainability is at the heart of the brand and pieces are made with a minimum of 70% upcycled fabric content. Convert operates a closed-loop waste management policy and produces with the help of renewable energy thanks to on-site solar panels. Convert defines “upcycled” fabric and fibre as being from an item that had a previous life and is no longer wanted by it’s owner, or unwanted/undesirable pieces otherwise destined for landfill. I, Hannah, am the creator behind Convert. As I became more eco-conscious in my own lifestyle choices, I began to re-think what “new” means to me. In 2019 I won the People’s Choice Award in the annual MyWaste Upcycle challenge, the project encouraged me to learn more about how many natural resources new textiles consume. I saw an opportunity to breathe new life into items otherwise deemed worthless or undesirable, as a result Convert was born.
