Diana Skalkos was born in cork. She studied ceramics and design as well as ceramics and sculpture in Chelsea college and Harrow college (Westminster university), in London. Diana has worked in ceramics in the Uk, Greece and India and exhibited her work worldwide for about 25 years. Her working processes are based on the ancient Geek and Indian processes. The colours in her work are inspired by local countryside and range from the bright yellows, red, violets and so forth of high summer to the earthy oatmeals, oranges, deep reds and rusts of autumn.
