Little Gem Puppets was founded by me, Carmel Balfe in 2010. I fell in love with the art of puppetry during a trip to Prague in 1991 at that point I had studied at the Crawford College of Art and Design and Grennan Mills Thomastown so I embarked on the journey of developing my skills as a puppetmaker. Along the way I have had the opportunity to work for disney, pokemon, broadway and most of the large street theatre companies in Ireland to name a few. I currently make puppets primarily for theatre, film and my own productions.
