Michael Ray

Michael Ray graduated from The University of Portsmouth with a Cert Ed in 1984; from Hertfordshire University with a Post Graduate diploma in Art Therapy in 2005; and from NCAD Dublin with an M.A. in Glass in 2009. Michael has worked extensively in Health and Education sectors both as a teacher/facilitator, and as a therapist. He is widely published as a poet and his glass has been exhibited in Beijing, Chicago and Paris. His recent work explores creation myths and the physical environments where life began, particularly along shorelines. In his work with glass, he experiments with high temperature processes, creating pattern through the distortion of structure, as the material, affected by gravity, compression and heat, changes state from solid to liquid and back to a transformed solid.
