Petals and Paper

Over the past few years, my little business has opend many doors for me and has given me the oppurtunity to work alongside local business to promote sustainability within the workplace and to show people that little actions such as recycling can have a huge impact on our immediate environment and the world around us. To create my artwork, I have been working with local businesses and collecting recycled coffee cups, egg cartons, BPA free till receipts and other recyclable material. All of this recycled material then is processed, naturally hand-dyed with fruit and vegetable scraps and made into paper sheets by myself. These sheets of handmade paper then become my canvas for my pressed flowers. All of the flowers that are used in my art pieces are grown by myself in my own garden or gathered from forests, wetlands, lake lands and river sides close to where I live. As you can tell, I feel so blessed to be on this sustainable journey and it has become such an important part of my life.
