Kayleigh handcrafts Phat Poly jewellery in her home studio based in the seaside town of Tramore in Co. Waterford. She lives with her partner Michael, two gorgeous doggos – Nuala & Oscar and one very grumpy cat named Hank. As a child Kayleigh was always into making things – her most prized possession was her Arts & Crafts tub (which she still has today!) When she left school she studied Social Care in college but when the recession hit Ireland the year she graduated, she decided to emigrate to Australia. She lived there for 5 years working in administration – her first job was in Foster’s! She was hugely inspired by her cultural experiences in Australia which ignited her childhood love of being a creative. When she returned to Ireland she got a job in the Civil Service so that she could save & support her first steps into the jewellery making world. Being a firm believer of Dopameine Dressing (where wearing clothes you love will boost your mood) - Kayleigh LOVES wearing earrings…. BIG ones........ BIG, COLOURFUL, statement ones! BUT…..having sensitive skin meant every pair she wore hurt her. They itched. They were heavy. They made her ears burn hot. She could not find any brand that didn't hurt so she decided to make her own. Phat Poly designs are distinctively eclectic, fun & colourful with a focus on inclusivity for people who suffer from skin allergies & irritations. Kayleigh’s use of nickel & lead free components combined with lightweight materials ensures minimal skin reactions helping everyone to make a statement...
