Ruth Riordan Art

Ruth is a full time professional Artist working out of her studio in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary, close to the twin towns of Ballina/Killaloe where she grew up, on the shores of Lough Derg. Ruth has been passionate about art from a young age and her inspiration comes from nature especially the fleeting beauty of Flowers, Birds and Trees. Each of her paintings are finger painted using acrylic paint. This allows her to express herself freely and capture the energy and spirit of the natural world. Ruth likes to focus on colour and texture, which gives her work a sense of presence, and feeling of movement. When Ruth works on each piece, she becomes more mindful of nature, its beauty, vibrancy and stillness, and endeavours to convey this unfathomable depth that can be seen and felt in the natural world. Ruth’s subject matter explores the beauty, intelligence and sacredness of nature, and tries to capture this essence, silently reflecting back. Ruth is a graduate from LSAD, and achieved a BA in Fine Art. Ruth has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions both locally and nationally.
