DCCI Ceramics Design & Skills Course 2020 Graduate Exhibition
Hand to Hand is an exhibition of new works by the 2020 graduates of the internationally renowned DCCI Ceramic Design & Skills Course. Based in Thomastown Co. Kilkenny since 1990, the course is now in its 30th successful year leading ceramic skills based training and education in Ireland. Throughout three decades the course has trained over 250 ceramists from Ireland, Europe and further afield.
Hand to Hand showcases innovative designs by eleven of Ireland’s newest makers.
Created with traditional and contemporary ceramic techniques. The exhibition demonstrates a diverse range of finely crafted tableware, artworks and expressive sculptural forms. Each maker’s signature style displays their individual technical ability and unique creative voice.
The graduates have acquired the essential knowledge over two intensive years of training and are now positioned to progress into industry and set up their own studios. Expertise and techniques have been passed down from the hands of master ceramists to the hands of these new graduates, safeguarding skills and ensuring our next generation of talented Irish ceramic designer makers are well equipped to begin their studio careers.
