Pre-launch information event for IMMERSION: Experience Climate Action, all-Island collaborative initiative that supports informed engagement between creatives, the public and climate experts.

About IMMERSION: Experience Climate Action

IMMERSION is a multi-year, all-island initiative led by Déanta Studio in collaboration with Ardán and Belfast City Council and funded by Creative Ireland’s Climate Action Fund.

Through an open innovation approach, IMMERSION will engage with creatives to come up with concepts to capture the public imagination around climate and biodiversity issues.

Leading climate experts will contribute to ensure an exemplary climate literacy component and community groups will ground the project teams’ concepts with real day-to-day challenges people face.

Project teams will be required to attend a series of workshops with subject matter experts. A working retreat will follow at an accessible location for the participants to allow the creatives to work on their concepts with expert assistance to create public-facing pieces.

Relevant festivals and locations for the project outputs will be identified throughout the country based on the location of the participants.

About the Pre-launch Event

At this pre-launch event, the creative brief will be unveiled and we will kickstart our mission to inform and inspire creatives to think about new perspectives on the climate crisis, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation.

Speakers from climate action and immersive technologies will speak to the potential that creatives have to bring about positive change and it will provide a unique networking opportunity between creatives, climate experts and community groups.
