To mark Design Week and the recently launched exhibition, ‘Miniature Masterpieces, 100 Years of Irish Stamps’, the National Print Museum has invited the exhibition designer, Niall McCormack, to respond to the exhibition with a limited-edition print.

The artwork will be printed using the traditional craft of letterpress, on the Museum’s Vandercook #4 by printer, Mary Plunkett. Stamps provide a unique perspective on how we see ourselves and how we wish to be seen. As the Decade of Centenaries draws to a close, this exhibition will examine Irish identity through the medium of these little pieces of printed paper.

The exhibition is a collaboration between the National Print Museum and An Post. At this event, Niall will lead a designer’s tour of the exhibition and discuss the inspiration behind the print. The group will then move to the Vandercook to see Mary demonstrate the printing of the final piece. All proceeds from the sale of the prints will go to the Museum, a registered charity. .
