Planning your August Craft Month? We’ve answered the questions we’re asked most often—from finding events near you and booking workshops to discovering makers, exhibitions, and demonstrations taking place across Ireland.

August Craft Month is an all-island celebration of craft and design, showcasing the creativity and skill of makers across Ireland. Throughout August, hundreds of events invite people to discover, experience and support contemporary craft through workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, open studios, talks and more.

August Craft Month takes place every year throughout the month of August, with events happening across the island of Ireland.

August Craft Month is organised by Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) in partnership with Craft NI. Together, they support makers, venues and organisations to deliver a diverse programme of craft events.

To register an event, create an organiser account through the August Craft Month website, complete your profile and submit your event details. Once reviewed and approved, your event will be added to the official programme.

Yes. Registering and promoting an eligible event as part of August Craft Month is free of charge.

Yes. August Craft Month is an all-island initiative, and organisers, makers and venues from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are encouraged to participate.

A wide variety of craft-focused events are eligible, including workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, open studios, maker talks, craft trails, family activities and community events. If your event celebrates craft, making or design and is open to the public, it may be suitable for inclusion in the programme.
