The visual dimension of media literacy, news and current affairs is often overlooked: this event seeks to foreground and stimulate debate on the role of the visual in news design.
By bringing together key practitioners, Typography Ireland hope to stimulate debate on this area. As well as those from the local community in Ireland, speakers include two of the most prominent figures in international newspaper and magazine design of the last 30 years: Mark Porter and Francesco Franchi.

It “contributes to societal resilience against disinformation and foreign information manipulation and interference by helping individuals detect and counter misleading and harmful content.” (European Union, Shaping Europe’s Digital Future.)
