DCCI is the national agency for the commercial development of Irish designers and makers. We champion the craft and design sector, helping it to thrive nationally and internationally. With over 3,500 craft and design professionals, we provide support, opportunities and advocacy across multiple disciplines.
Job Purpose:
The Commercial Assistant role is newly created to support the Commercial Programmes team on a number of exciting projects, including in our National Design and Craft Gallery (NDCG). The successful candidate will join an established team and work across a range of commercial programmes. This role is ideally suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no
two days are the same!
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Commercial Programmes
- Support growth programmes focused on creating commercial opportunities for maker and designers
- Participate in event planning and management
- Work with members and 3rd party suppliers across all programmes
- Support the Head of Commercial Programmes in all projects
- Work closely with the Digital and Communications Teams on the execution of Commercial programmes
National Design & Craft Gallery
- Support growth programmes focused on creating commercial opportunities for makers and designers
- Participation in the implementation of the NDCG annual gallery programme
- Liasie with curators & exhibition teams for successful implementation of the gallery programme
- Participate in the changeover of exhibitions
- Ensure the smooth running of the gallery day to da
Reporting & Data
- Compile data aross the commercial programmes team
- Provide reports which represent the gallery & commercial programme
Other:
- Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures
- Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Two years proven experience in a Commercial / Marketing / Business-related field with a relevant degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work as part of a team
- The role is 5 days a week with some weekend cover included
Desirable:
- Knowledge or passion for the craft and design sector
- Previous experience working in event management
