Funding for artists working in all forms of visual, craft and applied arts
The Trustees of the Golden Fleece Award invite applications for the 2027 Award. Emerging, mid-career, and established artists and makers currently resident in, or originally from the island of Ireland, are eligible to apply.
About the award:
The Golden Fleece Award was established as a charitable bequest by Dublin-born artist, researcher and educator Lillias Mitchell (1915-2000) to give artists “a ‘boost’ in times of particular need”. It is governed by a Board of Trustees that includes members of the Mitchell family, consultants and arts professionals who work closely together to fulfil her wishes. The Award is open to creative practitioners originally from or currently living on the island of Ireland, working across all forms of visual, craft and applied arts.
Prize fund:
In 2027, two Awards of €10,000 will be made – one in each of the two categories: Visual Art and Craft + Applied Art. Shortlisted artists will also receive an award, with the amount to be confirmed.
Application deadline:
Applications must be made via the Online Application Form on the Golden Fleece Award’s website before the deadline: 5pm, Friday 11 December 2026.
