Design for Public

Better by Design: Public Service Innovation in Practice

How can design help create better public services, stronger communities and more effective public policy?

Presented in partnership with Dublin City Council’s Design Innovation Team and the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, this special gathering brings together the growing Design for Public Community of Practice to explore how human-centred design is transforming the way public services are developed and delivered.

Across Europe, governments are increasingly turning to design as a tool for tackling complex challenges, improving citizen experiences and creating services that respond more effectively to people’s needs. Ireland has emerged as a leader in this field, with design now playing an active role in policy development, civic engagement and public sector innovation.

Building on the momentum of the Better by Design: Public Service Design Conference & Showcase, the event will bring together public servants, designers, researchers, policymakers and innovators to share experiences, discuss emerging challenges and explore how design can create meaningful impact across society.
